If you’re in the market for a new screen, but you’re unsure as to which one is right for you, then our quick guide should be ideal for putting you on the right track to a high-quality display that demonstrates the power of high-definition content.
1) Size.
Size does not mean everything, and having a fifty-inch screen just because you can afford one doesn’t mean you need one for the desk in your office. Try and scale it depending on how far away you are from your screen – this can be done simply by getting the measurements and sitting at your desk or in your living room and using a tape measure, paper or a cardboard box to represent the size of the screen. The ideal screen means not having to move your head to see everything on it, whether it’s a film or a stream from your O2 handset.
2) Connectivity.
Does it have a Wi-Fi connection built-in? How many HDMI ports does it have? Does it take SD cards or USB devices? These things matter to those who use a lot of tech alongside their televisions, as they may want to connect three consoles and a Blu-Ray player in addition to SCART tech and photos off a camera’s SD card. The amount of slots in the back matters.
3) Quality.
Don’t just pick something because it looks nice or because it’s cheaper – especially because it’s cheaper! Quality means that the HDTV you buy will last you ten years rather than ten months, and you’ll want to stick to the reviews when peeping the latest HDTVs on the market, rather than taking a chance on one that might seem great, but will do you a disservice in the long run.
Good luck finding the ideal HTDV for you – we’ll be right back, we’ve got some Blu-Rays to watch!
